The video above is of Fastlane and "Eyes Closed" from their first album "New Start", which was recorded at Premier, & went on to sell 14,000 copies. Gary on drums owned a Drum Workshop kit which had a "note" written in every drum. I tuned all his skins to the notes listed in the drums. It took a while!

The above track "Final Curse" by Norwich rockers, "Arch Stanton" was recorded at Premier. The vocals on this track were recorded with a hand held mic, with no headphones; the track was blasted through a big P.A. Many singers don't like using headphones; they are so used to gigging and rehearsing with a handheld, that they feel uncomfortable with headphones. Having said that, some singers love headphones! We record which ever way the singer is most comfortable.

 

The video above is of Viking Skulls "Frostbite" from their "Chapter One" E.P. The Drums, Guitars and Bass were all recorded live, at Premier, and then Roddy overdubbed his vocals. This track was from their debut EP which was recorded and mixed in 2 days! Recording costs of less then £500. Not bad for an EP which has sold over 10,000 copies in the UK and been on the front of every "Metal Hammer" mag in the World!

The video above features "Slide To The Left" and "Magic Carpet Ride" by pop punksters, 3 Storeys High. The snare drum on the tracks is my studio Ludwig (same as John Bonham used) and Bass drum is my Tama. I think we used Andys Toms. The bass is my Fender Precision through my Ampeg rig, played by Rich!
